Tino sighs contently, as he takes a sip of the warm chocolately bevarage. Looking out the window, he watches the snow fall, covering everything in a blanket of white. ‘I hope Berwald makes it home okay...’ he mentally says to himself. The young Finnish man decided to make another batch of hot chocolate, and put a few more logs into the fireplace so when his husband comes home, he’ll warm right up after walking home out in the cold. As he turns on the gas stove, he hears the door creak open, and a few loud footsteps. “That must be him.” Tino says to himself. “Welcome home Ber-” he stops mid sentence as Berwald looked back at him. his hair and shoulders covered in snow, and his arms wrapped around a small bundle. His face remained stoic, but Tino can see the worry in his eyes. “What’s wrong Berwald? What happened?” Tino asks, brushing the snow off of the tall Swedish man.
Berwald remained silent, but his gaze did not leave Tino. “Found her outside.” He says, his voice sound deep and monotone, but oh so quiet. Tino tilts his head in confusion. “Found who?” he asks. Without saying another word, Berwald gently unwraps the bundle, causing his wife to gasp.
A baby. Maybe about six months old slept peacefully in the Swedish man’s arms. Her cheeks flushed a rosy color, and there was a small patch of (h/c) hair. Tino smiles at the sleeping bundle, and he gently strokes her cheek. “Where did you find her Ber?” Tino asks looking up at him. “Near our doorstep.” Berwald replies with a slight grunt. It broke their hearts realizing that the child has been abandoned, and who knows where the parent is. “Let’s raise her like our own.” Tino says, smiling softly. Berwald’s icy blue eyes widen a bit, surprised to hear those words. A small smile appeared on his lips and he nods. “We need to name her first.” He replies. “Oh that’s right! Now let’s see.....how about we name her....(name).” Tino suggests. Just then, (Name) wakes up, and yawns softly. She looks up at Berwald, who looks back at her, with the same blank look on his face. She giggles softly, earning a chuckle from the Finnish man. “She likes you already.” Tino says. (Name) then looks at Tino and smiles warmly at him. “Think we’ll be good parents?” Berwald asks. Tino takes (Name) and rocks her gently. “I know we will. It’s going to be tough, but I know we’ll give her the love and care she needs.” Tino replies. The Swedish man nods, and shrugs out of his coat. "I'll be in my workshop. Gonna make (name) a crib." he says as he heads into his workshop near the kitchen.
"Well then (Name), let's get you warmed up and make you something to eat." Tino says happily, as he takes his daughter into the kitchen.
